Yay! Our class won a GOLD for the Drama Challenge!!! Mrs Smith annouced the results today during morning assembly. We were all like damn nervous as she announced the classes who got silver. "The classes receiving silver are: 2L, 2J, 2M and 2Q (the order i forgot liao)" When we heard that we were all damn happy, and when she announced: "The classes winning gold are: 2K and 2P", we were completely elated. Biquan went up to the front faced his class and did a little cheer thing haha. Congratulations to 2K too!

See Jon? What did we tell you. There's no point worrying. At the start you keep saying others damn pro la, we will kena owned la and in the end, we owned all of their butts. Well cheers to Jon for being our constantly going crazy director who brought us to this success. I think we owe it to the scriptwriters. Somehow I think the rhyming scheme in your script really impressed the judges! Of course the actors were damn pwnage. Chester was like damn pro, Yu Hsuen, Ben and Wei Rong were really really good, and Joel and Matthew were a great Portia and Nerissa. Not forgetting Zeb and ZM, and Ken's little cameo. lolz.

Later in the day even better news came. Chester said that he found out our class was actually better than 2K. That means we put up the best show among all the Sec 2 GE classes. Woot! Also, we were told that our class had been picked to perform in some literature event thingy! (at HCI, but nvm it's good anyway) Time for the actors to get back into character and memorise their lines. Time for the artists to repair and(in Mr Law tone) BEEAAUTIFY their props. For me and Jiahui, time to get used to a new lighting system, and work hard to dazzle the crowd with amazing, flashy lights. Lol.

All in all...It's time for 2P to move back...onto center stage.

I am 2 things right now.
Happy about our move into our new classroom and disappointed about the dialogue session after school.

First, more about our new classroom. It rocks! After morning assembly everyone loaded all their stuff and moved towards the new block. Wah major major human traffic jam. Still, when we got up to our classrooms we were greeted with our amazing new classrooms. Everything looks stylish and modern, but best of all, the aircon is damn shiok, and the room is super wide. We are on the 5th floor, so it's a long and tiring climb up the stairs every morning. Luckily we have the lift! (but only can be used from next week haiz..) So after that there was this opening ceremony thing, where everyone on all 6 floors went to their corridors to greet a tiny little Mr Mag at the bottom with a group of prefects. After a short speech by him the entire block did a spirit cheer and a unite cheer which tested the foundations of the new building (which thankfully stood)

From our classroom we can look at what 2M, the class beside us are doing. There's this project area thing in between both classes with glass windows we can look through. lol. We thought we could change in those rooms but god, there are windows all over the damn place. I must say one more unfortunate thing is the HUGE corridor windows thorugh which the teachers can now see everything we are doing in class, so people will get screwed more for like playing in class etc. I know it might sound stupid, but the cupboards are quite fun! You can squeeze 4-5 people in the bottom floor, and as such we took some random videos of CLONES(Jon that's you) and represented the cupboard as a cloning machine, in a most amusing fashion. Lol.
(Warning: Claustrophobic people should not try cupboard. Will die of shock immediately. It's damn squeezy inside. lol)

Ah well back to the dialogue session. The topic? The merger of GE and SE from next year onwards. To be honest it was a silly waste of 2 hours. Not that the intentions of our DHM wasn't genuine, but she did not really answer our questions. We were there to bring out our concerns, hoping that they could reconsider their decision and listen to us, but all she did was give us a few unsatisfying answers and ask us about other unrelated topics like our CTs. In the end we arrived at nothing, nothing at all. The point is that we are not mainly concerned with the SE and GE being put together and the attitudes that would be brought forth (although the marginalisation we may face is one concern), but it is how we seem to be the guinea pigs for their new untested system.

We have developed a bond, a strong sense of identity among our batch for the past 2 years, and to abruptly end this strong friendships halfway through our Secondary school life, at the MOST important phase of our life in RI, is quite saddening and unnecessary. All they tell us is we must learn to adapt, and have "cha-me-lon" instincts (not being seditious as usual, don't arrest me) Yes we agree, but the point is that sometimes in life, you must hold onto the bonds you have for a longer period of time such that they become stronger. Having to adapt to new systems and friends frequently does develop independence, adaptability and flexibility, but such a system will only produce cold and unfeeling people.

Unfortuately, we have no room for argument, and the guy who prepared the petition should give up all his hopes and shred the petition to pieces, since we have no hope of convincing the school administration. So, I guess we must take it in a good light, and be GOOD LITTLE guinea pigs for the government's constantly abrupt changes to their education system. We must try our best to lower the degree of trouble and disadvantages we will face, and not let this affect the crucial years of our life in RI. And granted there are some really good frens I have in SE that I am probably looking forward to working with if I get the chance. I am just a little disappointed, that's all.

Remember, as a most (in)famous speaker once said, we must not let our heart rules over our head.

The sense of relief is amazing. We have been rushing our A-bomb project for the past few days, repeatedly meeting at Chester's house till late at night. I must say the one thing in that house i am most impressed by is the dog. Ches has this huge husky, which is really really nice, really really tame and really really smart. It's like the dog doesn't bark and doesn't bite. In fact after determining you're not there to kill her, she will raise her paw to shake your hand. Damn cute.

Yesterday, the dog ran out of its little backyard home, and we spent a hell lot of pains trying to get it back in. When you use food to lure it back, she will follow you all the way, eating her fill, and then at the gate, she will stop, look, growl at you and run away. It's like, me, wenjie and jiahui put together couldn't outwit that dog. In the end, the master, Ches, was the only one who could control the tired dog, and with a little help from Wenjie leashed it and brought it back in. F.Y.I it bit Wenjie, and wenjie was swearing at the dog the rest of the day. Hahaha.

Today was RE congress (i.e. super slack day minus lessons minus books) Presentation after presentation came, but I must say that the Science presentations in the morning was well, boring. We didn't understand half of the cheeminology presented to us, so how the hell do we ask questions? Like someone said, when they explain their terms there would just be more terms within the explanation, and it will get worse and worse and worse. At least the Social Sciences Final in the LT was much better, with interesting presentations (THAT WE COULD UNDERSTAND) on the freaky Urban Legends of RI, highlighters and of course, who could forget Johnny the Cockroach & Co.

Well 2moro we are moving to the new classroom block(or the S. Rajaratnam teaching block), which according to Jiahui still has no computer, projector, speaker etc. Bad news, we are on the 5th floor. Good news, there is a lift~! Bad news, we don't get to use it after morning assembly. Good news, we get to use it ANY OTHER TIME!!! (except when teachers wanna use. haiz.) Still, the feeling of moving into a fresh new environment always rocks. Today after class, we happily ripped everything on our boards to shreds, although i had to salvage the important chinese results which YOU pple were inches away from tearing to shreds. -.-

Lol. Another long post.

Oh ya, on a side note. Jon, (if you're reading this) why don't you accept your fate. The Island is an exact reflection of what is happening to us now Jon. We are all clones in a cruel world, where after a living a less than fulfilling life we will be subjected to being cruelly used as tools to the means of those in the real world. Jon look around you. Nothing around you is real, nothing around you is genuine Jon. We and everything around us are merely copies of reality, with the only true purpose of awaiting death so that we can keep the real world alive. It is pitiful, It is saddening, but it is fate, and we have no way of escaping, as such we should just accept it and wait for our time to come. Every moment we don't get killed is just delaying the inevitable Jon.

There's no point denying it Jon, for it is our life, our fate and our destiny.

We have all accepted our destiny. Accept yours.
Philo and Phil-Ho (This is gonna be a long post so read all the way down!)

Today during Philo we watched a most interesting movie, while one by one groups of 4 were called out for dialogue observation. My group screwed up discussing on whether crossing the road when it was a red light was morally wrong. According to Mr Low we didn't use enough of the philosophical theories we had learnt. Ah well, back to the show. "The Island" is about this secret company in 2019(thanks and no thanks to wenjie for the exact year). Well what this company does is they clone human beings and keep these clones in a hi-tech world, where everyone wears like the same white outfits, and there are cool hi-tech stuff like a toilet bowl which can do a urine test on the spot and give you tips on your diet etc. which are flashed to you on a little marquee screen above your toilet. Freaky. These clones don't have a bright future though. When someone in the real world needs an organ transplant, there will be this scam lottery, and the so called "winner" will so called be sent to this island, which of course doesnt exist at all. Instead, these winners actually get themselves cut open(quite gruesome) and their organs would be removed for transplant into the body of the human in the real world. The clones in this little futuristic world don't know that they are clones, and don't know their true purpose, until Lincoln, played by Ewan Mcgregor, witness one of these "trips" to "the island", and knowing that his friend Jordan 2 Delta, played by Scarlett Jonhansson had just won the so called lottery, he warns her of the danger and so together they try to escape, entering the real world and in the end...(Warning: No spoilers, too bad)

During CLE, we welcomed a most suprising guest back to RI. Yep Phil Ho was back, armed with his usual bow tie and bluetooth headset. This time he wasn't here to give a talk on teenage crime and how people would cry in front of him after he buys $100 toys for them. This time the self-proclaimed talented speaker Mr. Ho would give us a talk on career development. I guess he was genuine in the message he was trying to bring across, but a hint of arrogance and contradicting statements just marred the genuinity of what he was trying to impart to us. He was almost showing off to us his acheivements in life, proudly showing us his wonderful career chart, the comments other people gave about him, the people from all walks of life who engage him for talks. I mean ya, we know you are a successful man and we respect that, but there is no point going on about your acheivements. Also, he said that "contentment" is the real wealth, but as the talk went on he gave random distracting comments on how people pay him $5000 to have lunch with him and how people even pay him $25,000 just to give a talk. Accompanied with hard to read powerpoint slides and a short i don't know for what video clip, his talk on a whole didn't appeal entirely to me, although this guy does have substance and is genuine in the message he's bringing across.

This is not a personal attack, and I am not purposely insulting him or being seditious and asking him to arrest me. It's just my personal opinion on how he presented himself. Whether you agree or not, it's up to you.

Anyway aside from that Oral Comm today was quite interesting i guess. First Mr Yeo started off with how wonderful he found 2M's play, and commented that they would win. No way man our class rocked. We owned 2M and 2Q and we will win! =D Haha. Then, he gave his usual life lessons, and then we did a feedback form. I personally feel that Mr Yeo has been a very inspiring and no doubt entertaining teacher for this entire course, and is definitely a par above the other Oral Comm teachers we have had. and then for the 2nd half of the period he picked random pple out to speak on impromptu topic. I was damn suay lor, I was going like please not me please not me then, "Can I have Mr Ng, Jarrell." I was like wtf, and then i screwed up talking about what it's like being an only child. -.- However I must say Abel and Pek were very good, especially Pek, who talked about the "disturbing" side of China. Then it sparked off into a talk about the state of cleanliness in China. In China, their public toilets are sometimes just a dug out trench between two walls where the crap will pile up until the rain comes to wash it away. Then in China, the kids have these flaps on their pants, and when they wanna *coughs* let go, they just open the flap and let go wherever they are, whether in a train station, or on the streets. Also on the streets, you can have mucus splashing at you while you are going through a "dodge'em" with piles of mucus on the floor. And in the lower classes of train stations, you can have peanut shells all over the place and pple who smell bad squezzing into trains with you. Eek.

What a long post. -.-

Meanwhile, enjoy the new skin.

Well I took this "Seven Deadly Sins" Quiz, and...

Greed:Medium
Gluttony:Medium
Wrath:High
Sloth:High
Envy:Medium
Lust:Very Low
Pride:High

Take the Seven Deadly Sins Quiz

Shiver in my presence...Shudder at my anger. Crumble under my power and under my wrath YOU SHALL BE NO LONGER!

Just a thought.
As anyone would probably know, the time of CTs(Common Tests, also commonly known as Crazy Torture) has dawned. As such, everyone is slowly but surely entering mugging mode. Of course there's the handful who still misses slacking. Ok maybe I can safely say everyone misses slacking, maybe except the pros like Jiahui, Wenjie or Yu Hsuen. Then again Wenjie has the time to randomly nudge his msn contacts and act blur when pple ask him what he wants, so he must be a damn free, lifeless and slacking guy -.-

For the two years I have been in RI I have always been intrigued by the CT system in our school. From the very start they tell us how wonderful the system is for us, how we completely do not have exams, and yet how the weightage from exams will be spread out in assignments. So we go:ok...fine...So no exams. That rocks, right? And as we go past the years some of us do notice the difference in standard and difficulty between CTs and your regular exams, and we are sort of relieved we get to avoid these exams + 'O' Levels. The intriguing thing is, it's the teachers
who are worried about the system THEY themselves set up.
Whenever they tell us to mug hard for CTs, or return us badly done test papers, they go like: "We are worried for you guys, coz you don't have enough practice doing long exams. Your CTs are 1-1 half hours so we are worried you might not be able to handle long 3 hour test papers."
Ok...So taking 3 hr long test papers is a skill? I mean it's not like just because our papers aren't half that long so we can't handle all those right? Aren't the teachers over-worrying and contradicting themselves?

Maybe.
Ok let's start off on a better note. I just thought posting a highly thought provoking and retarted(note: not spelling error, not being seditious or anything) post at the start would, you know, be "interesting".

This is a really old issue but I just found this and it's really amusing. Have fun! (P.s. Move around using mouse and press left click to flick Zidane's head at Materazzi Clones. Not as easy as it seems!)

Identity... What does it mean to all of us?

Are we who we really are? Are we really who we want ourselves to be? Do WE know who we really are, what we really want and how we really want ourselves to be like? Or are we just another replicate in this world we live in?

Hypocrisy... Are we guilty of it?

In this world no one knows what the people around you are truly thinking, feeling, doing. With the expectations and responsibilities that come our way in life, people put on a different personality, and to us that serves as his identity. Are we staying true to our identity? The question is...Are YOU guilty of hypocrisy? Have YOU lost your true identity...?

Throughout this blog you will witness my thoughts, my feelings, my life. Am I being hypocritic? Am I truly who I seem to be? Have I lost my identity? You be the judge...
